Salmon DNA · Neck and décolleté

What Does Salmon DNA Do for the Neck and Décolleté?

For the neck and décolleté, salmon DNA aims to support hydration, texture and the look of fine lines in thin skin.

It does not correct sagging, deep neck lines or volume loss on its own. Because the area is wide and delicate, the session plan varies by person. Suitability, expectations and alternatives are decided by the doctor at an in-person consultation.

Aim
Thin skin, fine lines, hydration and texture support
Not the aim
Marked sagging, deep horizontal lines, volume loss

Why do the neck and décolleté often look older earlier?

Neck and décolleté skin is thinner than facial skin, has fewer oil glands and is constantly exposed to sun and movement. Fine lines, dullness and uneven pigment can therefore show early in this area.

There is little supporting tissue under the skin here, and neck movement can crease the same lines repeatedly. Sun damage, genetics, weight changes and posture also affect the look. Whether habits such as looking down at a phone change horizontal neck lines is not firmly established, so exaggerated claims should be avoided.

What you see on the neck may be skin quality, skin laxity, muscle banding, or changes in fat and volume. These are handled by different methods, which is why working out the component at consultation matters.

What does salmon DNA target on the neck, and what does it not?

Salmon DNA aims to support hydration, texture and the look of fine lines in neck and décolleté skin. It does not correct marked sagging, deep lines or volume loss on its own and does not replace surgery.

Polynucleotide products aim to support the skin's own repair processes. They may be discussed for mild to moderate fine lines and dull, tired skin. The degree of effect varies and can be limited in some people.

For deep horizontal neck lines, marked laxity or platysmal bands, tightening devices, biostimulators or other methods may be considered at consultation. Salmon DNA may sit alongside them in a complementary plan. The limits should be discussed openly from the start.

How is it done, and how many sessions are needed?

The product is placed in small points or with a fine cannula or needle. Because the area is wide, the amount and session length can differ from the face. The general plan is usually several sessions; number and spacing are set individually.

The area is cleaned first and, if the doctor judges it suitable, a topical numbing cream may be used. Neck skin is thin, so choice of technique and depth matters. Mild discomfort may be felt, and the sensation varies from person to person.

As with polynucleotide products in general, the framework is a few sessions several weeks apart, though plans differ by product and area. Our page on how many sessions are needed gives the general picture, and the exact plan is settled at consultation.

Which alternatives can be discussed for the neck?

Depending on the goal, mesotherapy and other skin boosters, biostimulators, radiofrequency or ultrasound-based devices and topical care can be considered. The choice is made with the doctor according to the cause of the concern and your expectations.

For skin quality, mesotherapy and other skin boosters can share similar goals with salmon DNA; differences lie in content, target and session plan. For laxity and sagging, biostimulators and tightening devices may suit better. Each option has its own advantages and limits.

Our related neck pages give more detail. When several methods are combined, swelling, bruising and recovery times are taken into account when ordering them. This decision is not the same for everyone.

What to expect after neck treatment?

Bumps, redness, mild swelling and tenderness are expected and usually settle in a few days. Change in skin quality is gradual and varies by person; no result can be promised. Sun protection matters.

The neck touches clothing, jewellery and pillows, so avoiding friction and pressure in the first days is more comfortable. Intense exercise, hot environments and sun can increase redness; our aftercare page covers care.

Rising pain, fever, hardness and heat, colour change, or any difficulty swallowing or breathing needs prompt contact with the doctor or emergency care. Treatment is generally postponed in pregnancy and breastfeeding. A personal assessment requires a consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Will salmon DNA remove neck lines?

Salmon DNA may support skin quality and the look of fine lines, but it is not expected to remove deep horizontal lines on its own. Results vary and may be limited. The right method depends on line depth and is decided at consultation.

Is salmon DNA enough for a sagging neck?

No. Salmon DNA does not add volume or lift sagging tissue. Tightening devices, biostimulators or other methods for sagging and laxity are assessed at consultation.

Can salmon DNA be applied to the décolleté too?

The décolleté can be planned together with the neck or separately. Because the area is wide, the amount of product and session plan can vary. Suitability and technique are decided by the doctor.

Does neck treatment cause bruising?

Some people have mild bruising and swelling, which is usually temporary. Blood-thinner use can increase the tendency. Duration varies by person. See a doctor if signs keep increasing.

What is the difference between salmon DNA and mesotherapy for the neck?

Both can aim to support skin quality but differ in content, target and session plan. Our comparison page gives general information. Which suits you is decided at consultation.
